Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them” (Romans 1:21-32)

September 7, 2005 – A reader on my website was shocked to hear me say that homosexuality was not the cause behind the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina.  He was further shocked to hear me say that homosexuality was not the cause behind the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah either.  New Orleans was not judged because of rampant homosexuality.  New Orleans was rampantly homosexual because New Orleans is Roman Catholic.

I have already made several comments in my sermon on The Whirlwind… permission to revise and extend my remarks…

We have been talking quite a bit of late about cause and effect.  I have shown recently how Arminians, Papists and even Hyper-Calvinists miss the true Gospel because they do not study or pay attention to true cause and effect.  Now I am hearing many Christians say that God judged New Orleans through Hurricane Katrina because of the rampant and open homosexuality practiced there.  Most are making a connection between the annual Sodomite “Southern Decadence” festival and the timing of the Hurricane.  One writer claimed that God had “finally judged that Sodomite city”.  But are people missing something here?  Let’s look!

Sodom was not judged because of the homosexuality practiced there.

“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good” (Ezekiel 16:49-50).

The sins of Sodom are listed here, and we could certainly include homosexuality within the category of an “abomination” committed before God, but what came first?  Romans the 1^st Chapter teaches us that God gives up men and women to vile affections because of their pride, their vain imaginations and their wicked worship practices.  Sodom became a den of homosexuality because of their sins of pride, idleness, abundance, greedy neglect, and haughtiness.  Homosexuality was judgment.  God took them away in his own time, after He had turned them over to vile affections and a reprobate mind.  The problem here is that people are confusing punishment with judgment.

The punishment for Sodom’s sins was utter destruction.  The judgment for their sins was that they were turned over to vile affections and to a reprobate mind which evidenced itself in their homosexuality.  Homosexuality does not bring judgment, homosexuality is judgment.

Let us look at the stream of cause and effect in Romans the 1^st Chapter.

1.     Men and women reject God first.  They do not glorify Him as God and they are not thankful to Him.  Like all worldlings and religious atheists, they will not have God as God.

2.     They become vain in their imaginations, so their foolish hearts (minds) are darkened.  Their decision making process is corrupted.  They cannot see things aright.

3.     Based on their faulty logic, darkened reasoning, and wrong perception of reality, they profess themselves to be wise, when they are really fools.  They begin to rationalize worshipping God in ways that He has not authorized, and in ways that He has personally banned.  They begin to make images to worship, believing that these things represent things in heaven and things God has made.  They believe they honor and serve God, when in fact the opposite is true.

4.     God then gives them over to the uncleanness of their own ways, to seek and fulfill the lusts of their hearts.

5.     These who have changed the truth of God (His Holy Worship and His commanded ways of serving Him) into a lie, and who now worship the idols of their own hands instead of the Creator of the Universe, are given over to their wicked lusts to dishonor their bodies one with another.

6.     Because of what has gone before, God has given them over to misuse their bodies in an unholy, abusive, barbaric, disgusting and unseemly way; men with men and women with women.

7.     Due to these sinful judgments that are brought upon them, they receive in themselves the payment for their wickedness.  God has judged them, and they are left to themselves to do wickedly with no hope and no pardon.

8.     They have now been fully judged and given over to a reprobate mind, which brings on those activities that naturally follow reprobation; “unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful”.

9.     This judgment has come upon NOT ONLY those who do these things, but upon those who assent, give approval to, agree with, or accept, them who do them.

The judgment upon these wicked souls has been passed.  They receive the punishment first within themselves, as we have explained.  Later, in time, God will allow these reprobates to face the mortal punishment for their abominations.  In the case of Sodom, it ended with an utter destruction of their city.  We must differentiate between the adjudication phase and the punishment phase.  A man may be found guilty of murder and sentenced to death (the punishment), but he will likely spend many horrible years in a stinking prison before the punishment phase is meted out.

Now, the question is… was New Orleans destroyed because of homosexuality?  Or was New Orleans open and accepted homosexuality a judgment for another crime?  Let’s look at some history:

According to the testimony of the city itself, the logo of the city (and even the football team, the New Orleans Saints) is the French “fleur de lis”.  Note the fleur de lis on the Saints helmet:

The State of Louisiana was claimed for France by Robert Cavalier, Sieur de La Salle who sailed from the Great Lakes down the Mississippi River.  La Salle named Louisiana after the French Catholic King Louis XIV.  On April 9, 1682, near present day New Orleans, a cross was erected bearing the arms of France and an inscription claiming the territory in the name of Louis XIV.  The fleur de lis was borne upon the royal arms of France, and was the sign of the French Catholic royal family until the Revolution of 1789.

What is the “fleur de lis” and where did it come from?  The great Protestant commentator E.B. Elliot who wrote Horae Apocalypticae (a commentary on the Book of the Revelation) discovered that the original insignia of the French Catholic royalty was actually the FROG and not the fleur de lis.  This is why French are derogatorily called “frogs” even unto today.  The Book of Revelation says:

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty” (Revelation 16:13-14).

The original banner of France was a banner with 3 black frogs upon it:

Clovis, the first so-called “Christian” King of the Franks, when converted to “Christianity” changed the banner of the Franks from a banner with 3 frogs on it, to a banner with the three fleur de lis (supposedly Iris flowers) upon it.

The French, who founded Louisiana and specifically New Orleans, were profoundly and completely Roman Catholic.  To this day, Louisiana is governed by the French “Napoleanic Code” rather than Common Law, and the State is divided into “parishes” and not “counties”.  The “parishes” currently extant in Louisiana today were originally church government units set up by the Roman Catholic Church under the Spanish provisional governor in 1689.   The administration of the French Colony of Louisiana was divided into three Roman Catholic sects; The Jesuits, The Carmelites, and the Capuchines.  The City was populated by French, Spanish and Acadian (French émigrés expelled from Nova Scotia) Catholics until the early 1800’s, when their numbers were multiplied by the influx of Irish, German, and Italian Catholics.  Much of the French royal aristocracy fled to Louisiana during the French Revolution.

New Orleans has been a Catholic city from the very beginning.  By the time the Civil War started, New Orleans was a Catholic haven in the Protestant South.  65,000 Roman Catholics lived in the city and its surrounding area at the beginning of the Civil War.

The most important event in New Orleans is Mardi Gras, which is a Catholic festival held one week before the Catholic observance of Lent.  Mardi Gras was being celebrated openly as early as 1744 in the city.  According to papers written by visitors to New Orleans, the culture and character of the Catholic city was quite simple, “They wander from ballrooms to cards, from cards to billiards, from billiards to dice, and from dice back to ballrooms”.  By 1824 “Carnival” is being held al over the city, with homosexuality, fornication and other “intimate goings on” in abundance.  From 1835-1837 the Carnival has moved from private gatherings and parties, to open parades in the streets of New Orleans.  Violence, mayhem and fornication are expected and accepted during the parades.  From 1857 to the mid 1870’s the Catholic Mardi Gras began to take its present form, with the parade groups formed into “Krewes”, each taking the name of mythical creatures, building floats, and basically inciting debauchery.  In 1875 the northern carpetbagger Governor Warmoth signs into law the Mardi Gras Act, making the debauchery a legal holiday in Louisiana.  By the early 1900’s The Catholic “Krewes” have now taken the names Osiris, Nereus, Mithras, Comus, Mystrieuses (an all female Krewe), Iris, Proteus, The Ancient Order of Druids, among others.  In 1933 The Krew of Allah began to roll during Mardis Gras.  By 2005, there were sanctioned Krewes marching in New Orleans under the names; Bacchus, Mecca, Icarius, Love, Juno, Jupiter, Titans (Satans), Oz, Pan, Phoenix, Zulu, Helios, Daughters of Eve, Selena, Aquarius, Nefertari, Thor, Centaur, Nike, Amor, Hercules, Pandora, Pegasus, Athena, Romulus and Remus, Minerva, Caesar, Haderus, Octavius, Knights of Sparta, Endymion, Vulcan, Silenus, Hercules, Orpheus (on the Leviathan float), Ashanti, Merlin, Muse, and Shangri-La.

Homosexuality is the product (or effect) of false worship, denying the Truth of the Bible, pride, haughtiness, vanity, idolatry, etc.  Homosexuality is the natural end of Catholicism.  Why do you think that homosexuality, pedophilia and other vile behaviors are epidemic in the Roman priesthood?  We can now see that the Roman priesthood is overwhelmingly homosexual and perverted as a natural and logical effect of their false religious system and false worship.  We are even beginning to see rampant homosexuality in the nominal Protestant sects, especially in Pentacostalism and the Charismatic Movement.  Pentacostal/Charismatic dogma is nothing more than Catholicism renamed, so it shouldn’t shock you that homosexuality is becoming ever more evident within the Charismatic movement.  Even TBN High Priest Paul Crouch recently was forced to pay hush money to his former Sodomite lover.

Is all this to prove that New Orleans was evil?  No.  Any small child with a jot of spirituality knew that New Orleans was evil.  The problem is that most “Christians” are missing the message.  It is not what a man is doing with his body that condems him; what he is doing with his body is the product of what is in the heart:

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man” (Matthew 15:18).

Many of you have cause and effect out of whack.  Surely God destroyed New Orleans because of its wickedness and rampant homosexuality.  But New Orleans was homosexual because New Orleans was Catholic.  New Orleans’ Catholicity and her other wicked attributes were inextricably linked.  Most people will be shocked to learn that Haiti was not the center of Voodoo and Santeria in the world, New Orleans was.  Voodoo and Santeria are both pagan earth religions heavily mixed liberally with (or rooted in) Catholicism.  The mixture is easy because Voodoo and Santeria practitioners are comfortable and at home with Catholicism.  In truth, Santeria priests are merely honest Catholic priests.  Voodoo priests are merely honest Catholic priests.  They are honest about what spirits they are invoking and the demonic and devilish nature of their practices.  There is a reason that Anne Rice (author of many books on Vampires and Witches) and other adherents to Satanism and fans of the “undead” felt at home in New Orleans, and it wasn’t homosexuality.  It was Catholicism and the demonic stronghold of wicked ecclesiastical power that drew witches, warlocks and the lovers of the dark side to New Orleans.

Speaking of New Orleans, Anne Rice says that “The living was good there. The clock ticked more slowly; people laughed more easily; people kissed; people loved; there was joy.”  What she means is that rules of basic human behavior, propriety, morality and right religion did not apply in New Orleans.  In an article mourning the loss of New Orleans, Rice insists that New Orleans was the true melting pot of the world, but was it?  Rice claims that there were “Protestants and Catholics” in New Orleans.  I suppose that is true, just like it is true that there is usually both Gin and Vermouth in a Martini.  (It is not usually good form to explain a joke, but this time I better.  For those of you not familiar with Martinis, a Martini is 80+% or so Gin mixed with very little Vermouth.  The more Martinis you drink, the less Vermouth.  Today, many bars actually only add Vermouth with a sprayer that puts only molecules of Vermouth in the Martini.)  If you count the Charismatic heretic Jesse Duplantis as a Protestant (he is actually more consistently Catholic than most Cardinals and Priests) then you can probably say that there were both Protestants and Catholics in New Orleans.  I read a blog from a reformed Christian who fled the city before the Hurricane.  He was probably one of the few molecules of Vermouth in that Martini.

Get this straight… New Orleans was the most purely Catholic city in existence outside of Rome.  Where Catholicism is left unchecked by the existence of true Christianity, it very quickly devolves into homosexuality, perversion, paganism, and death worship.  Remember, when God wanted to judge the wicked practices of the Amorites, he removed Israel by placing them in bondage in Egypt.  Only when the iniquity of the Amorites was considered full, would he send the Israelites back in to destroy the Amorites and all the other wicked people of the land (Gen. 15:16).  Now, we believe that God is now fulfilling the promise made through all the shadows and types of the Old Testament Prophets, who showed how God would pull His people out of the world and out of the cities before He destroyed those wicked places.

New Orleans reaped the Whirlwind

New Orleans was born in wickedness, was nurtured in evil, matured in iniquity and received in herself the penalty of her crimes.  As a city, she was an unclean frog, vomited out of the mouth of the beast. The judgment upon New Orleans was that she was turned over to a reprobate mind; she was given over to homosexuality, paganism, witchcraft, demonism, and hedonism.  This was the judgment upon New Orleans.  The recent destruction wrought upon that city was merely part of the punishment phase, not the adjudication phase.  New Orleans had already been judged.  What can you learn from this?

When you plant a crop, when you tend that crop, when you water and nurture that crop, then you should not be surprised when you reap what you have sown.  When you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7).  When you see a people steeped in unbiblical ritual and spiritual wickedness, and then you see that people move into homosexuality and perversion, then you can conclude that God’s judgment has already passed upon that people.  The judgment phase has passed, and only the punishment phase is left to unfold.  Amerika has been turned over to wickedness, homosexuality, pornography, and child murder.  Her judgment has come upon her. She has already been judged!  That judgment has not been made evident in its fullness yet, but it will be more and more evident every day.  Then will her punishment fall upon her.

The darkness has fallen on this land, and it will soon be the darkest part of the last night.  It seems, to my understanding, that the watchmen are to be removed (more on this in future articles), and Israel is to be bereft of a means to hear the gospel message; popery (and its clones) will continue to overspread the land while God’s true witnesses will eventually be silenced.

So, What of the Night?

“But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ” (1Th 5:4-9).
