michael bunker commentary on isaiah
Studying the Book of Isaiah...
Isaiah prophesied to a people who would not hear. His prophecy was a reproach to a wicked people who had forsaken their God for religious myths, idols, and
the culture of the people round about. Isaiah prophesied temporally and in type to physical Israel and Judah, but his word was spiritually designed by God to apply to those who would live in the last days (Chapter 2, verse 2). No other book contains as much prophecy specifically applicable to our times, and no other prophet is so desperately needed by our generation. Every verse of this great prophetic book is type and shadow, which has its fulfillment anti-typically in our own day. True Prophets are despised men. They are to speak boldly the words of God to princes and paupers, to kings and to countrymen. The Prophet preaches the Word of God, not so that he will convince or convert men, but so that God's righteousness and justice will never be challenged in the courts of the heavens. The true Prophet is the representative of God among a wicked and perverse generation; he cannot hope that he will be heard among evil men, for they cannot hear the words of God. This commentary is Isaiah's word to our generation. THIS COMMENTARY IS DIVIDED INTO 3 VOLUMES, AND EACH VOLUME WILL EVENTUALLY BE AVAILABLE IN HARDBACK BOOK FORM. WHEN THE VIDEO VERSION AND AUDIO CD VERSIONS ARE AVAILABLE, THEY TOO WILL BE AVAILABLE BY VOLUME. WE ARE CURRENTLY APPROACHING THE END OF VOLUME ONE, WHICH WILL INCLUDE UP TO CHAPTER 23 OF ISAIAH.
